Let the good in

What does it take for us to let in the good stuff? Negative self-talk convinces us that we are not worthy of kindness, gifts, compliments or special attention. We bat them away, embarrassed or uncomfortable, sure that we are undeserving. But what if we could receive these things into our hearts with openness and a welcoming acknowledgement? The truth is that learning to receive requires a level of vulnerability that can feel overwhelming. So we need to go gently with ourselves, one step at a time.

Today, in your journal, write down five compliments you would give yourself if you were a friend of yours. Read them back over the week, and add to them if you want to.
