As children, we played every day. We dreamt up fantastical worlds of imagination, and as we played, we learnt. We learnt about how to build things, and how to break them; how to care for things and how to comfort them; how to work as a team and how to problem-solve independently. Play connects us with our inner child, which is still an intrinsic part of adulthood, but one that we have lost. When was the last time you allowed yourself to be playful, to be silly, to laugh out loud, to jump on the trampoline?
Today, think back to the last time you were playful – describe it, what you were doing, how you felt, what you could see, smell, hear, who was with you. Can you find a way to bring this playfulness into your life again?
